For the six million UK wine drinkers who want to learn more but don't know where to start, Wine List is a way to discover great bottles while learning at the same time.
Good morning
Welcome to the second investor update. Top-level was a positive month for us: we shifted the brand, acquired a lot of customers affordably, and launched Wine List for Teams. We are also closing the final tranche of the pre-seed fundraising this month.
All the best
Josh
Top-line stats
- Active subscribers: 291 (up 2.7x from 105)
- New subs: 195 at £21 CPA
- March revenue: £12.3k ****(up 3.7x from £3.3k)
Highlights
- Great month of trading 🎉 So far, we are benefitting from the nation in self-isolation. We remain cautiously optimistic in general towards the outlook for the next few months.
- New website & messaging 🔧We spent 15 hours with customers in the last month, and have shifted messaging, website, and brand as a result.
- 'Partnerships' is our first marketing channel 🤝 Currently won partnerships with Timeout, Soho House, Vodafone, and The List. Negotiating with another phone provider, a TV broadcaster, a national newspaper, and a handful of museums and arts venues. These are all either free or CPA-based.
- Other marketing wins. Acquired 59 customers via Facebook at £18 CPA. Inserts in April with Bloom & Wild, and Simply Cook. Secured first piece of coverage in the Evening Standard.
- Launched Wine List for Teams. As well as our core subscription, we launched our teams-focused remote tastings. First batch of teams from Transferwise, Facebook, Strava, and more. So far these have been good revenue drivers + interesting acquisition hooks.
